She likes both classes so much that 4hour back-to-back class fly by quickly. Mr Sean’s class has created a unique culture that all the kids are attentive, engaged and hard-working. And throughout a semester’s work, I can observe how her basic skillsets(proportion, perspective, composition etc) have evolved and her interest and taste in drawing also seen great improvements. Her sketchbook becomes a must-carry item whenever we travels."

Since last year, both my boys have joined Calcolor. We really like their curriculum which allows kids to try different materials and appreciate famous artists’ masterpieces. Calcolor encourage kids to express their own ideas. In class, young artists use all different colors, shapes and compositions to express the same topic.”

“Our 7-year-old daughter has been attending weekly classes at CalColor Academy for over two years, progressing from Art Exploration to the Art Foundation class.
We really appreciated their trial class option, which let her try different teachers to find the best personality fit. She found wonderful mentors in Ms. Alice for Exploration and Ms. Lily for Foundation.
For younger kids, the Art Exploration curriculum focuses on building genuine creativity rather than pushing rigid technical drills. The students get to experiment with a wide variety of materials and mixed media—from regular painting and 3D crafting to layering air-dry clay over acrylic paint for holiday projects—which kept her excited to learn.
Studio operations are seamless as well. The site manager, Mr. Daniel, is always helpful and accommodating whenever we need to coordinate schedule changes or make-up classes. We also love the end-of-class routine, where parents are invited in to see the day's project and teachers hand out stickers for completed homework. It is a fantastic, well-run art program that our daughter truly loves.”

“This is my son's fifth year at Calcolor! He started around four and half in Exploration class and leveled up to Foundation when he turned to seven years old. He also joined the Digital Art class since the beginning of 2025. Without extra words, one can easily tell how much he loves Calcolor :P. We love that Calcolor provides a very educational art curriculum for younger kids all the way to teens and their projects are fun, as well as introducing art skills and philosophy to students. He is with Ms Connie all the time but he also knows every other teacher and staff since sometimes we have to do make-up classes due to conflict and he is an 'old' student here lol. Every teacher and staff is super nice to the kids! Multi-media art is very popular recent years. When Calcolor opened Digital Art class in Newark site, it quickly caught our interests. My son signed the class for sure and he absolutely loved the class! Ms Yunli is a fantastic digital art teacher and she teaches the kids so many interesting projects with brilliant art ideas. I can tell everyone is super happy because when I pick up my son, the kids are always smiling at their projects :P. We will continue our journey with Calcolor for the sixth year, seventh year...
